Ten Years Later
Some photographs stay with you long after you've taken them.
Nearly ten years ago, I asked a few strangers on Nextdoor if they'd let me photograph them in a way that was different from the typical portrait session.
The portrait above is one of the photographs that came from that project. It's still one of my favorites, and I've been thinking about doing it again.
In a world full of snapshots, I wanted to create photographs that people would still care about years from now.
Around that time, I was experimenting with new lighting and some beautiful old lenses. But more than that, I wanted to slow down and create something memorable rather than simply take another portrait.
The wildfire has left me with something photographers rarely have: time. It reminded me of that project from ten years ago.
I'd like to photograph a handful of people, creating photographs you'll still care about years from now.

You Don't Need to Be a Model
Most of the people I've photographed had never been in front of a professional camera before. You don't need to know how to pose. You don't need a perfect wardrobe. You simply need to be open to creating something memorable together.
I'll plan the session with care, photograph you without rushing, and thoughtfully edit the final images. There is no cost to participate. This isn't a giveaway or a promotion. I'm simply revisiting a project that meant a great deal to me.
